Global experts unite for International Coeliac Disease Symposium

This September, the International Society for the Study of Coeliac Disease (ISSCD) will be hosting their 20th biennial research conference in Sheffield City Hall.

The International Coeliac Disease Symposium (ICDS) is a unique three day event that will bring together professionals from around the world to share knowledge on all things related to coeliac disease.

For over 40 years, the ICDS has been the largest global meeting for health professionals, dietitians, researchers, scientists and others, working to promote scientific knowledge, education and quality of care in the field of coeliac disease and gluten mediated human disease.

The event programme will include a scientific and clinical forum running concurrently throughout the three days including sessions focused on epidemiology, associated conditions, refractory coeliac disease and diagnosis.

Speakers will include Professor Ludvig Sollid (Norway), Dr Jason Tye-Din (Australia), Carlo Catassi (Italy) and Peter Green (New York) making it a truly global gathering.

Whilst most of the ICDS event is reserved for professionals, there will be a chance to attend a number of other special events including our Gluten Free Food Market, which will be open to the public. Coeliac UK will be attending each of the special events and reporting on the activity across our website and social media channels, keep an eye out for the latest news and updates straight from Sheffield!
