Volunteering for young people
We have lots of opportunities to help children and young people start their volunteering journey.
Join our Young Champions or Gluten Free Under Thirties (GUTs), who both do a fantastic job of raising awareness in schools, further education and the workplace and providing support to young people so they don’t feel alone and isolated.
Young Champions
Any child can become a Young Champion – simply download our pack for free! It’s designed to help anyone aged 5 to 11 feel more confident talking about their coeliac disease. By talking and raising awareness, they’ll be helping their peers and their parents, teachers and leaders to gain a better understanding of coeliac disease and the gluten free diet.

Gluten Free Under Thirties (GUTs)
Volunteering with GUTs is a great way to meet other members aged 18 to 30. GUTs provides information and support and the opportunity to get together at events throughout the UK and on social media.
“I volunteer as a committee member of Gluten Free Under Thirties (GUTs), Coeliac UK's network for younger members. As a committee we manage a number of platforms where young people can seek support and connect with each other. I first met other people with coeliac disease at a GUTs event and was immediately interested in getting more involved. I love being able to give back to Coeliac UK and continue the wonderful support the GUTs network provides.”
