Welcome to all members,
Ahead of our next newsletter, this update is to highlight some forthcoming events, plus enable you to share your supermarket experiences as part of Coeliac UK's cost of living campaign. Even as we enjoy the heat of summer, we ask you to indicate your interest in a Christmas meal.
Coffee Mornings - July, August and September
10.30 a.m. – 12 noon at Waitrose, Basingstoke on
- Saturday 1 July
- Wednesday 2 August
- Saturday 2 September.
For those who have not attended before, Waitrose is at Basing View, Basingstoke RG21 4YY, there is a large car park, at the rear with free parking for the first two hours (though you must still get a ticket from the machines).
Picnic in Eastrop Park - 15 July
Saturday 15 July, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
We look forward to seeing you at our meet up in Eastrop Park in central Basingstoke. The park is a short walk from Festival Place, the bus station and railway station. There is a boating lake, children’s play area, paddling pool and more.
Bring your own lunch and get to know other members.

Family meet up: Basing House - please vote for your preferred date
The weather put paid to the Easter plans for an outdoor activity, so we hope you can join us at Basing House, Old Basing, on either Saturday 29 July or Saturday 5 August at 10 a.m. Please email us via northhampshire@coeliac.org.uk to vote for your preferred date.
Christmas Dinner - BCOT - 6 December
We plan a Christmas Dinner at Basingstoke College of Technology (BCOT) on Wednesday 6 December, starting no later than 6.30 p.m. Three courses are £22.95. A deposit of £5.00 will be required at the time of booking.
Please let us know via northhampshire@coeliac.org.uk if you are interested, so that we have an idea of numbers.
Children's Christmas Party - Basingstoke - 26 November
Please save the date. Numbers will be limited for this lunchtime event. More details in a forthcoming newsletter, enabling you to express interest and book your places.
Cost, Access and Availability of Gluten Free Food - please can you spare 10 minutes to complete a survey of your supermarket shopping?
Coeliac UK is campaigning about the cost of GF food, but needs more evidence from the supermarket shelves (or online) to make the case. You can help by completing a survey every time you shop between now and 25 August.
