Join us at one of our events next week
As you may be aware, Coeliac awareness week starts on Monday! Coeliac UK have arranged various activities throughout the week, starting with an easy bread cook-along on Monday evening. You can read more about this and see what else they have planned here: www.coeliac.org.uk/awareness-week-2023/Coeliac Awareness Week - Coeliac UK
Closer to home, we have a couple of events scheduled next week in Basingstoke, so it would be great to see lots of you there! Both events have nearby parking and are easily accessible from the train station.
On Wednesday 17 May at 10:30am you can join us for our next regular coffee morning in Waitrose cafe at Basing View. There is free parking behind the shop for 2 hours, but make sure you get a ticket!
On Saturday 20 May at 2pm we have a family meet up at Eastrop Park, which is a short walk from Festival Place. Similar to recent family events, this will be an informal event to allow the children to play together. We have typically had children ranging from 3 to 12 attend with their families, but there is no specific age range, so if you have a coeliac child who enjoys playing in a park you are welcome to join us!
To confirm your attendance (especially if you're planning to join us on Saturday), please email us at northhampshire@coeliac.org.uk so we can let you know where to meet on the day.
Lastly, supermarkets usually have promotions on "free-from" food during coeliac awareness week, so make sure you keep a look out and let us know if you manage to get any gluten free bargains!
Coronation celebrations
For those who took part in the coronation celebrations last weekend, we would love to see photos of your gluten free creations! Please send your photos to northhampshire@coeliac.org.uk and we'll choose a couple to feature in our next newsletter and on our Facebook page.
