Your Coeliac UK Food Information Service: April Update

10 April 2025

Good news! We’re pleased to share that we’re now rolling out the first phase of updates for our Food Information Service.

The first batch of approximately 10,000 products are now available in our Live Well Gluten Free app. These include products with our Crossed Grain trademark, single ingredient foods, and some supermarket own brands including M&S and Aldi. More products will be added at regular intervals over April until all 190,000 products are back within in the service by the end of the month. Please ensure your app notifications are enabled so we can let you know as each update is made available.

Functions now working in the Live Well Gluten Free app:
  • Barcode scanner
  • Product search
  • Quick search icons (located at the top of the product search page)

We are prioritising the gluten free preference filters within the service, as these are essential for our community. Additional dietary preferences will be reinstated once all products are back within the service.

Please remember that as well as our Helpline team, the following resources are still available to help you with your gluten free diet:

Thank you once again for your continued support during this time.

We look forward to sharing more improvements across our Food Information Service across the coming weeks and months.

Frequently asked questions:

I’m still seeing the “product search not working” message in the app, but it is.

We apologies for the confusion this may have caused. This message has been updated and will be removed soon. We are currently waiting for the Apple and Android app stores to approve the new messaging.

I’m not seeing any products in the app. What can I do?

Different devices and operating systems (iOS, Android) may need different actions to correct this. Below are some options for you to try. If the options above do not work, please get in touch. Please provide your device make, model and operating system version number.

  • Log out of the app completely (do not just close it down), and then log back in. Go to ‘Food and Drink Products’ and then tap on the ‘ALL’ icon the search by keyword. Products should now be displayed.
  • Uninstall the app from your device and then reinstall via the App or Google Play Stores. Next, log in to the app. Go to ‘Food and Drink Products’ and then tap on the ‘ALL’ icon under the ‘Search by keyword’. Products should now be displayed.

Do I need to enable push notifications?

Push notifications are a quick way for us to let you know what updates are happening and when more products are being added to the app. You will receive these messages as device notifications when you are not using the app. So please do enable this feature if you’re happy for us to communicate you in this way. Alternatively, keep an eye on this web page as we will make further updates about the service here too.

When will more products be added to the app?

We’ll be releasing more products at regular intervals throughout April. All 190,000 products should be available by the end of the month.

I can’t find my usual ‘go-to’ products in the app. Does that mean they are no longer suitable for my gluten free diet?

We’re releasing the products into the app in phases so it’s likely the testing process has not completed yet on the products you are looking for. If you would like to check about a particular product then please get in touch by clicking here.

I also have other dietary preferences, when will this feature be available again?

We’re prioritising the gluten free diet filters as these are the most important for our gluten free community. Once all products are within in the app, we will start implementing the additional dietary preferences. We recommend that you read the product label if you’re unsure if the product is suitable for your other dietary needs. If you’re still unsure if a product is suitable for you, contact the manufacturer or avoid the product.
