World Digestive Health Day

Today is World Digestive Health Day, a day for patients and healthcare professionals alike to raise awareness of the many patients who have digestive diseases including coeliac disease. The week was launched in 2005 and each year raises awareness of a different health issue related to gastroenterology.

This year’s theme is gut microbes and focuses on their importance in overall health and in preventing gastrointestinal disease. Gut microbes play an important part in mitigating the effects of coeliac disease. You can find an informational video to accompany the week on YouTube.
