Southend and Castle Point & Rochford CCG joint prescribing consultation
3 March 2016
Southend Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Castle Point and Rochford CCG have launched a joint consultation on gluten-free prescribing, tabling an option to remove access to GF food on prescription for people with coeliac disease and they are asking for your view.
Other options being considered include:
- continuing to prescribe according to National Prescribing Guidelines
- providing some gluten-free food for those who receive free prescriptions
- restricting the products available to bread and flour only.
Coeliac UK will be formally responding to the consultation and we have directly contacted Members living within the CCG areas, but we need your help to make sure the needs of local people with coeliac disease are understood.
