Premia Health recall whey and protein shake products

Premia Health has recalled Premia Whey due to the undeclared presence of soya and gluten and Protein Active Shakes due to undeclared gluten.

Premia Health is updating its recall of Premia Whey (Milk Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla flavours) because they contain soya and gluten which is not mentioned on the label; and Protein Active Shakes (including Diet Whey and Protein) because they contain gluten that is not mentioned on the label.

  • Protein Active Shake (including Diet Whey and Protein), Belgian Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla flavours, pack size: 50g, 'Best before' end: All batch codes.

Risk

As well as containing undeclared egg (Premia Whey) and undeclared soya and egg (Protein Active Shake), the products also contain gluten which is not declared, making them a possible health risk for anyone with coeliac disease, an intolerance to gluten, an allergy to egg and/or soya.

Advice to consumers

If you have bought any of the above products and have coeliac disease, an intolerance to gluten, an allergy to egg and/or soya, do not consume them. Instead, return them to the store from where you bought them for a full refund, or call the company’s Customer Service team on 02890 918 393.

Action taken by the company

The Premia Whey listed above has already been subject to a recall due to the presence of undeclared egg. The Protein Active Shake listed above has already been subject to a recall due to the presence of undeclared egg and soya.  The company has been advised to update their point of sale notices with this information.

No other Premia Health products are known to be affected by this issue.
