Craig Hamill takes on third marathon in aid of Coeliac UK

22 April 2016

Craig Hamill, aged 41 from Bishop’s Cleeve near Cheltenham, will be running the Virgin Money London Marathon for the third time on Sunday, this time in aid of Coeliac UK.

His choice of our Charity was inspired by the experience of getting his seven year old daughter Isabelle diagnosed in June 2015. The process, which took almost a year, included many appointments, several blood tests and, finally, a biopsy. The news was greeted with a mix of relief and sadness by her parents, but these days Isabelle is thriving on her gluten-free diet, with Craig commenting:

"Coeliac UK have provided us with lots of support and advice since [Isabelle’s] diagnosis and I am delighted to be running for the Charity this year.”

A prolific fundraiser, Craig hopes to top £2500 by the big day. We couldn’t be more thankful for his hard work and wish him all the best on Sunday, when he hopes to break his five hour personal best record.

With inspiring people like Craig out there raising awareness and funds, we can reach more undiagnosed people with coeliac disease than ever before. Want to find out what you can do?
