Coeliac UK Chief Executive nominated for BakeryandSnacks award
16 December 2014
Coeliac UK’s Chief Executive Sarah Sleet has been nominated for the Personality of the Year 2014 award from BakeryandSnacks, the online daily news service for the food and beverage industry.
The nominees include Anthony Fletcher, CEO of Graze, Ann Mukherjee, President of PepsiCo Global Snacks and PepsiCo Global Insights, Lee Sanders, Senior Vice President of government relations and public affairs at the American Bakers Association, and others who have been recognised for their skills in company leadership, dedication to research and industry advocacy.
BakeryandSnacks said that Sarah Sleet was nominated for her “proactive style in bringing together industry and coeliac consumer needs” which they described as “invigorating.”
Speaking of her proudest moments in 2014, Sarah Sleet said: “With the introduction of the new allergen labelling in 2014, I hope we have persuaded manufacturers and caterers that what is good news for their gluten-free customers, is also a great business opportunity for them. Gluten-free is the fastest growing category in the food sector and it’s just a short step from meeting the FIR regulations to labelling gluten-free. And I am so pleased that more businesses than ever before are taking up the challenge with over 130 businesses using our Crossed Grain symbol and nearly 2,500 venues across the UK accredited by Coeliac UK, including restaurant chains, individual and public sector establishments.”
We are very excited that Sarah Sleet has been nominated, please help her win the award for her work by voting on the BakeryandSnacks website.
