Coeliac UK challenging Mid Essex CCG on gluten-free prescribing

5 January 2016

Mid Essex CCG is proposing to remove access to gluten-free food and Coeliac UK's Head of Campaigns Lisa Bainbridge will be attending a meeting of the Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee which has a duty to scrutinise proposed changes to local health services. This is an opportunity to make the case for gluten-free prescribing as an essential NHS support for people with coeliac disease, particularly those on fixed and low incomes, the elderly and those with reduced mobility.

The meeting takes place tomorrow - Wednesday 6 January at 10.30am in Committee Room 1, County Hall, Market Road, Chelmsford, Essex, CM1 1QH

Anyone living in the area who will be affected by the policy is encouraged to attend and help us fight for this service. We apologise for the short notice for this meeting but unfortunately were only notified of the meeting yesterday afternoon.
